Responsibilities

Your role is to provide policy support for the welfare of a range of client groups including children and families in need of care, young offenders and destitute persons. You will be required to carry out robust research and analysis on these issues. You will need to understand the profile/trends of the clients group, evaluate existing policies, and if need be recommend new policies and strategies to assist the client groups. You will have an opportunity to work in inter-agency policy reviews. For candidates with an aptitude and interest in organisational development, you can also be involved in organisational development related projects for the Division.

Requirements
You should possess a good honours degree in a social science discipline such as Social Work, Sociology and Psychology. You will need to show evidence of the following:

Strong interest in social and public policies
Strong analytical and critical thinking skills
Strong research knowledge and comfortable with statistics and use of statistical packages such as SPSS
Good communication skills both written and oral
Ability to work independently and be self-motivated
