Responsibilities
EHI’s research programme contributes to the integrated evidence-based Public Health Programme in Singapore. The successful programme is facilitated by excellent teamwork and fruitful interactions with fellow researchers, operational officers and policy makers. If you enjoy the use of advanced technologies, and would like to see your research translated into public health measures and policies, we invite you to apply for our position.
The successful candidate will assist in laboratory-based risk assessment of environmental pathogens. You will be required to develop molecular epidemiology capability on environmental pathogens and provide scientific-based advisory on environmental policy. Research outcome is expected to contribute to the environmental public health in Singapore.
Requirements
- Bachelor of Science, preferably with degree in the field of environmental microbiology or molecular biology
- Working experience in Environmental Microbiology or Biological Sciences is highly preferred
- Possess strong planning, communication and interpersonal skills
- An independent and resourceful person with the ability to multi-task
- Good analytical mind
- Ability to work in a team and in the field
- Rational thinking in handling problems
- Preferably no concurrent respiratory illness or allergic symptoms
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, knowledge in statistics is desirable
