The Accountant-General’s Department (AGD) is a department under the Ministry of Finance (MOF). We deliver a wide range of financial and accounting related services to the Public Sector.

AGD also works in close cooperation with MOF and public sector agencies to raise the quality of financial administration in the Public Sector. We provide computerised financial accounting and payroll services to the whole of Government and some statutory boards. As owner of these civil service-wide systems, we ensure that our systems provide accurate, efficient and prompt payments to suppliers, civil servants and pensioners.

Responsibilities
The Chief Information Officer (CIO) will be responsible for providing direction and leadership to AGD on IT matters, including setting the Department’s IT strategy and overseeing its IT infrastructure setup, systems and services.
He/She will:

Develop, implement and maintain a comprehensive enterprise-wide IT strategy and applications systems in line with business objectives;
Develop and implement IT governance as well as security policies and measures;
Oversee and co-ordinate IT projects and initiatives, including liaising with all IT vendors in the areas of application maintenance, facility management and data centre services;
Institute effective internal controls and efficient design in our systems; and
Build up in-house IT capabilities and adopt best IT practices within the Department;

Requirements

A good Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Computer/ Electrical Engineering or related discipline from a recognised University. An added Business Management Degree will be advantageous.
A dynamic and, creative person who takes initiative and is able to multi-task and handle diverse portfolios.
Good project management and interpersonal skills.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with good writing, presentation communication skills.
At least 10 years of working experience in IT or IT business consulting with 5 years in project management role.
