Responsibilities

NEA is looking for an engineer/scientific officer to assist to formulate, plan, review and implement programmes to monitor ambient air quality and coastal and inland water quality. The officer will assist to do the following:

• Oversee the existing air quality and water quality monitoring programmes
• Assess air and water quality trends
• Keep abreast with latest technologies in air and water quality monitoring and review the need to upgrade NEA’s air and water quality monitoring programmes
• Keep abreast of international standards for air and water quality and assist in the review of standards for Singapore
• Maintain inventory of pollution sources
• Carry out air and water quality dispersion modelling studies

Requirements

• A Good Degree in Chemical Engineering or a Good Honours Degree in Chemistry, Environmental Engineering / Management
• Good writing skills
• Possess good communication skills, able to work independently and as a team
• Possess strong analytical and problem solving abilities
• Possess sound chemical and basic environmental knowledge
