Responsibilities
You will be responsible for setting up and manage the Geographic Information System (GIS) in NParks to ensure its smooth running and maintenance, including drafting of policies, procedures and standards required. You are required to understand the GIS needs and the relevant processes of the various divisions in order to establish the GIS system required by NParks. You will be required to perform spatial analysis of data when needed and to manage all spatial technology tools including handheld devices.
You will work with the IT team and consultants to follow up on issues of the GIS system until closure. You will liaise with other agencies/ organisations on spatial matters, data sharing agreements etc. You will be involved in facilitating the change management and performing GIS administration functions in EVE as well as assisting the EVE users in GIS matters.
Requirements
- Degree in Information Technology/ Geographic Information System (GIS)/ Geography
- Preferably minimum 2 years experience in GIS applications, technical support and/or IT project management
- Competent in using ESRI ARCGIS suite of software
- Excellent team worker with the ability to take initiative and improve processes where needed. Strong customer service orientation is also crucial.
