Responsibilities
- As the Government’s communications professionals, Information Officers are involved in a range of public communication and information management work, such as research in the public communications aspects of new media, events management, corporate communications, information policy development, crisis communications, media research and analysis, professional training and national marketing.
- Your work helps the Government communicate policies to the public and to the wider global community in an increasingly challenging communications environment. You will also be involved in a range of new media communications work by utilising the new media tools and platforms as additional channels for public communication.
- Successful candidates will have the opportunity to be posted to a variety of information management positions within government. This could include postings to a government ministry or agency to head or serve in its corporate communications department.
Requirements
- Good university degree, preferably in Communications
- Have at least 2 years of experience in public relations, journalism or a related field
- Possess good interpersonal and writing skills, with strong research skills and good project-handling capability
- A keen interest in public communications, new media, and current affairs
- Possess social and political sensitivities, and leadership qualities
- Good knowledge of new media tools, platforms and trends, as well as proficiency in the use of popular media tools and platforms would be an advantage
