The Agri-Food & Veterinary Authority is the national authority on food safety in Singapore dedicated to ensuring a resilient supply of safe food, safeguarding the health of animals and plants, and facilitating agri-trade for the well-being of the nation. Our core functions include ensuring food safety, ensuring resilience in food supply, safeguarding animal and plant health, safeguarding animal welfare, promoting agrotechnology, investing in research and development and protecting endangered wildlife.

Responsibilities

1. To perform laboratory work (chemical, microbiological and organoleptic/sensory) and other technical support for research projects and activities.
2. To maintain and operate processing equipment and machinery including assembly and dismantling, cleaning, washing, oiling/greasing, etc.
3. To assist in the conduct of research projects and activities and ensure that assigned work is expeditiously and efficiently carried out according to schedule to achieve the desired outcome and results.
4. Transfer technology to the local and regional vegetable industry through training courses/seminars in post-harvest technology, technical advice and guidance.
5. To assist in the training of students on industrial attachment.

Requirements

1. Diploma holder in Food Science/Technology or equivalent
2. Has passion to develop new products.
3. Self-motivated and resourceful, and willing to carry out wet vegetable/ fish processing work.
4. Possess good technical knowledge and understanding food processing/ post harvest technology, and familiar with Food Quality Management Systems such as HACCP, ISO22000, GAP and GMP.
5. Good communication and interpersonal skills
6. Preferably at least 2 years of relevant working experience with knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and Powerpoint.
