Responsibilities
Nursing /Admin Duties:
- To provide nursing assistance to doctors in the medical care of patients. This includs assisting the doctors with minor surgical procedures, wound dressing, etc.
- To oversee the maintenance of medical and other clinic records.
- To see to the purchase and condemnation of medical and surgical supplies and equipment.
- Pharmacy and Reception counter: To oversee SMRC;s counter services, including appointment bookings, registration of patientss and dispensation of medication.
- Plan, co-ordinate, prepare first aid /medical supplies for medical coverage of local, international & oversea’s games.
- Monitor unit budget and expenses.
- Field Coverage of Sports:
- To provide medical coverage for local and international sporting events when required.
- To plan or assist in the planning and preparation of such coverage when required.
- To accompany national sports team on overseas assignments when required eg SEA Games.
- Doping Control:
- Plan, organise and co-ordinate in and out-of competition doping control testing for both local and international events which include the following arrangement.
- Manpower arrangement – DCOs.
- Liase with WADA accredited laboratory for analytical analysis, purchases of doping control sampling kits,, Urine SG /PH strips, Forms etc.
- Courier services.
- Finance matters Budget, Billing, Payment.
- Results management.
- Other Duties:
- To perform administrative duties as assigned by MD (SM)Manpower arrangement – DCOs.
Requirements
- Qualifications: State Registered Nurse (SRN)
- Experience: The following past experiences would be an assets:
- Experience in working in an outpatient setting
- On-field sports coverage, or experience as a team trainer
- Skills & Knowledge:
- Good nursing skills
- Good communication skills
- Good “bedside manner” and interpersonal skills
- Basic computer knowledge : wordprocessing, email, internet surfacing
- Good written and spoken English, able to converse in Mandarin /Malay
- Personal Qualities:
- A team worker
- Can carry out duties with minimal surpervision
- Willing to learn new skills and adapt where necessary
- Willing to take on extra load or work extra hours when required.
