We do this through our network of 1,800 grassroots organisations, five Community Development Councils, the National Youth Council, National Community Leadership Institute, Outward Bound Singapore and Water-Venture.

Not just any outdoor instructor, but an Outward Bound Instructor. By whichever name they are called, OBS Instructors are, undeniably, a special breed. What sets OBS apart from the rest is that our programmes are not just an adventure of a lifetime. Participants of OBS courses are embarking on a learning journey beyond their mental limits, and we want YOU to be part of it.

Requirements

• Degree qualifications, Diploma holders with relevant experience and/or active sporting or outdoor background will be considered
• Good oral presentation skills. You will need to engage groups of participants with profiles ranging from students to working professionals
• Passion to work with people of all age groups
• Swimming ability (without buoyancy aid) at least 200m. You will conduct various water-based activities such as kayaking, rafting and sailing
• Must be physically fit & medically fit. The job requires you to take groups out on expedition-based journeys which involves trekking and/or paddling for long distances. You will oversee the groups' well-being when they are under your care.

Recruitment Process for OBS Instructor

Shortlisted candidates will be invited for the following:

1. Briefing Session - To know more about the job as an OBS Instructor.
2. Instructor Selection Programme (ISP) - During the briefing, candidates will be invited to participate in the ISP
3. Final Interview - Shorlisted candidates, will be invited to come for the Final Interview

Instructor Selection Programme (ISP ) Schedule
Candidates will go through a series of mentally & physically challenging activities (water and land) during the 3 days selection programme.
