Responsibilities
- To support SSC’s Sports Hub Division to review designs, technical concepts and proposals submitted by the Sports Hub Consortium, assessing the design and technical aspects, ensuring SSC’s and Government’s requirements and interests are incorporated accordingly
- To reinforce SSC’s Design & Technical Team’s core competencies, focussing mainly on the Mechanical concepts and developments of the Sports Hub Project, facilitating effective and efficient design reviews and detailed design developments with the Sports Hub Consortium in these areas.
- To coordinate with the Sports Hub Consortium on design reviews, detailed design developments and construction progress of Sports Hub Project including liaison with SSC’s internal stakeholders, SSC’s Sports Hub Team, SSC’s appointed technical consultants, Sports Hub Consortium’s Design Team, site personnel and consultants involved, ensuring smooth and quick flows of data/decisions to and from SSC and the Sports Hub Consortium
- Understand the user’s requirements, technical specifications and functional intents of the Sports Hub Project, and ensure they have been successfully incorporated into the project design, especially for the specific sports facilities of the Sports Hub under his/hers charge
- Drive issues resolution with SSC’s internal stakeholders, Government agencies and other relevant statutory authorities for planning parameters and other technical requirements, and ensure that they are catered for in the project designs
- Drive resolution of potential design development and/or construction-related issues or contractual disputes and offer appropriate solutions, and proactively work with consultants and the Sports Hub Consortium to seek solutions
- Lead as the assigned sports facilities in –charge, to co-ordinate, set-up meetings/discussions/workshops, gather internal feedbacks/comments, respond to the Sports Hub Consortium on SSC’s decisions/feedbacks, eetc.
- Lead in reviewing technical documents, especially in his/her core competency area of Mechanical Engineering, including documents such as design drawings, schedules of accommodation, schedules of finishes, room data sheets, zone date sheets, site progress reports, mock-ups, samples, etc., submitted by the Sports Hub Consortium; visits to worksites/factories/installation grounds, for periodic reviews, monitors and inspections of works will also be deemed included
- Assist in the selection and appointment of the technical consultants as necessary during the construction phase of the project and work with technical consultants to review the budget/variations and construction programmes for the project
- Give presentations and briefings on the status of the design of facilities and technical development to various stakeholders
- Other related duties which may be assigned as and when necessary
Requirements
- Degree in Mechanical Engineering and/or Degree in Building Services/Construction Technology/Project Management, and/or equivalent
- With 5 – 8 years of relevant working experience, understanding of and experience in building design, project and/or construction management of major and infra-structure developments
- Experience in public sector development projects and familiar with building and construction regulations/requirements, as well as having project management experience, would be an advantage
- Leadership qualities and as part of team to meet organizational objectives and the ability to prioritize multiple assignments and work effectively under tight deadlines
- Competent team player with good interpersonal skill and able to work independently
- Analytical thinking and writing skills, oral communication and presentation skills
